    What operators and employers say.

Feedback sent back by customers after completing the course.

    Completed the course

Easy to fit around my shifts

“I took the course between shifts and liked being able to stop and pick up where I left off. The sections on load balance and visibility were easy to connect to our warehouse floor.”

    Powered industrial trucks

One certification. All six forklift classes.

OSHA groups powered industrial trucks into classes. Our training covers every one of them, so an operator can move between equipment without a second course.

    29 CFR 1910.178(l)(3)

OSHA requires training on the specific type of truck an operator will use. Covering all six classes keeps a crew compliant when the equipment changes.

Not sure your equipment is a "forklift"? Ask.

Type what you drive — "cherry picker", "telehandler", "stand-up reach truck", "walkie" — and we'll tell you the OSHA class and whether this certification covers it.

    ‌

    Why OSHA Operator

The forklift course your supervisor actually wants to see.

Operators want to get on the truck. Safety managers want the paperwork to be right. We built this for both.

    1. Built to the regulation, not around it.

The course walks the formal-instruction topics in 29 CFR 1910.178(l)(3) one by one — truck controls, stability, load handling, refueling and charging, pedestrian safety, site hazards — then hands your employer the evaluation form that closes the loop on your own equipment.

      • Classes 1–6 covered
      • Employer evaluation form included
      • Written exam, 70% to pass
    2. Fast, without the shortcuts.

Narrated lessons and knowledge checks you can pause between shifts. Finish the course and the exam in one sitting, download your certificate the same day, and your printed card is already on its way.

      • Start the minute you pay
      • Certificate the moment you pass
      • Free, unlimited retakes
    3. Real people in the US, around the clock.

Questions before you buy, during the course, or when a new hire can't find the login — our US-based team answers by email and chat 24/7, in English or Spanish. No overseas call center.

    For employers and safety teams

Certify the whole crew. Keep the records in one place.

Warehouses, DCs, manufacturers and contractors use OSHA Operator to onboard operators without pulling a shift offline — and to walk into an inspection with every record ready.

    • One invoice, any quantity

Seats from $45 at 2 seats down to $35 at 50+. Discounts apply automatically. W-9, PO and net terms on request.

    • Operators train on their own time

Add names and emails from your dashboard. Each operator gets a login and starts the self-paced course when their shift allows.

    • Audit-ready records per operator

Certificate, written score, practical evaluation and evaluator signature in one PDF — the training record 1910.178(l)(6) asks you to keep.

    • Typical in-person training runs $150–$200 per operator. Online seats here start at $49.

    Where it's accepted

Federal OSHA or a state plan — we've mapped your state.

Powered industrial truck training is a federal standard, and OSHA-approved state plans adopt it. Pick your state for the local jurisdiction, any state-specific notes, and a certification page you can send to your employer.

support@oshaoperator.com Or use the chat bubble, bottom right

Yes. OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178(l) allows the formal instruction portion of operator training to be delivered online or in a classroom. Our self-paced course and final exam satisfy that formal instruction and evaluation requirement. OSHA also requires a workplace-specific practical evaluation, which your employer completes using the evaluation form we provide after you pass.

In our experience employers accept it, because the certificate documents the formal instruction and written evaluation OSHA requires, and it comes with the employer evaluation form needed to finish the practical portion on site. If your employer has a specific documentation requirement, email us before you buy and we'll confirm we can meet it.

Start the self-paced course anytime and finish on your own schedule. After completing training, pass the final exam to download your certificate.

Nothing happens to your certification cost — retakes are free and unlimited, so you can keep retaking the final exam until you pass.

A full refund is available within 20 days of purchase, and only until your wallet card is printed. Both conditions apply — after 20 days, or once the card has been printed, the order is final. Exam retakes are always free and unlimited, and are separate from the refund policy. Full details are on our refund policy page.

No forklift and no special software. You need a device with a camera and internet — a computer, tablet, or phone all work. The practical, hands-on portion is done on your employer's equipment at your workplace.

Buy seats in any quantity at the discounted organization rate, then submit your operator roster from your dashboard. You get one invoice, centralized billing, and per-operator completion tracking and certificates. For larger rollouts you can request a quote instead of buying up front.
